My Testimony
李杏娣 Li Xingdi

I come from the province of Shanghai in China. Presently, I live at Teban Garden together with my daughter and son-in-law. I got to know Sister Huang during my stay here and she invited me to attend the cell group at Teban Garden and also the Chinese service at PPH. I heard the gospel and in church, I witness the love that brothers and sisters had for each other and also saw the peace and joy that they had. They showed me a lot of concern and I experienced the love of Christ. In May this year, Pastor William Lim led me to pray to Jesus asking Him to be my Lord and Savior. Since then, I have been attending the activities organized by PPH. I have also served together with the brothers and sisters at PPHCSC, and had the opportunity to share the love of Christ with others in need. I have decided to take the step of baptism, to dedicate my life as a witness and to give all glory to God!

My Testimony
涂淑英 Tu Shuying

I come from the province of Chengdu in China. After my daughter, Weihong, had shared the gospel with me, I wanted to find out more about Jesus. Then, in Dec 2004, I attended a church service conducted in my hometown during Christmas. It was on that day that I decided to give my life to Jesus. I met some Christians and began to attend worship service more regularly. In July, I came to visit my daughter and grand daughter in Singapore. I was really happly because I could see that they were very much at peace. My daughter invited me to attend Chinese service and I could feel the love and the warmth of brothers and sisters here. I attended the Alpha Weekend at Sentosa and re-committed my life to Jesus, asking the Holy Spirit to fill me once again. I have decided to receive baptism and to declare that I am willing to give my life to Christ.

The Healer
Paul Lim

My father's leg was at risk of being amputated. Yesterday (4 Oct 2006) I was at the hospital with my dad for his check-up. The doctor (Prof Aziz) was checking his wound and his comments were "excellent and beyond anyone's expectation". At one time after the op, the wound was so deep that one could see bones and tendon. But there is now growth of tissue and you don't see the bones and tendon but pink tissue over it. This is excellent recovery for normal patient but considering my dad being a "hard core" diabetic, this is awesome!

The doctor asked what did we do. The answer was "we prayed a lot".

I was reflecting over this and can't help but recognized that this was God's grace upon his life (again). About ten years back he had liver cancer and after treatment he also recovered beyond expectation. After which he received the Lord and was baptized. To imagine he was so so close to having his leg amputated - and now such recovery - it can be nothing but grace.

I tried to explain to him in my limited Teochew that we need to be thankful and acknowledge this is grace from God. But it would be injustice to God if I kept silent. I must proclaim the goodness of God so that God’s people can give him glory. So would you please join me in giving God the glory and honor!

True Strength!
Mavis McAllister (& Dan & Jackie)

On a happier note, a few weeks ago my son had to go have his jabs (immunization shots), and kicked up quite a fuss at the doctor's office, declaring with tears that he didn't want the jabs.

I tried everything -- reasoning, pleading, threats (I have to admit it!), bribery,etc.. and finally we gave it up. As we sat in the waiting room for a few minutes, I told him he should pray. He did -- asked for Jesus to give him strength, courage, etc. The minute he said amen, he stood up, straightened his shoulders and walked into the consultation room and announced to the doctor "You can do the first jab in my right arm!" and then held out his other arm for the second jab.

The doctor (after quickly administering the jabs) asked me "What did you say to him to get him to change his mind?"

And Jackie answered, "I just prayed to Jesus and He gave me strength". The doctor was almost knocked off of his chair.

We had taught Jackie "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Phil 4:13) and he has quoted it himself several times. And it's good for his mum to remember too!
