Becoming a Christian
|
First, by taking that step of faith in believing Jesus Christ died on the cross and shed His blood to pay for the penalty of our sins, and then rose again as our living Saviour.
Next, we must admit that we have done wrong and are in need of God's forgiveness. (Romans 3:23) Ask Him to remove the sin that has separated us from Him. And then we're forgiven!
Next, we must repent, which turning away from our old lifestyle and submitting to God. (Luke 13:5)
The last step is committing our lives, follow Him and obey His commands through the strength He gives us as the Lord of our lives. (Romans 10:9-10)
If you take these steps with a sincere heart, you will enter into a new life with Jesus Christ. You can call on Him in time of need, draw from His strength, and have an assurance that you will be with Him for eternity.
"
If any man belongs to Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; everything is made new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Prayer
"
Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of the Living God and that you have died on the Cross for my sins. I repent of my sinful ways and I ask for your forgiveness. I receive You now as my personal Saviour. Please come into my heart to manage and control my life from this day forward. Amen."
